Sophie believes food is something to be celebrated and enjoyed. She has always had a healthy interest in cooking and eating and believes that how we think about food and our bodies has just as much impact on our health as what we actually eat.
As a qualified Nutritional Therapist, Sophie takes a holistic approach to nutrition that recognizes and works with people on all levels - physically, emotionally and spiritually. She believes everything we think, feel, do and eat has an influence on the body's health and wellbeing. She draws on the naturopathic philosophy that the body is always seeking to return to a balanced state of wellbeing and uses this philosophy to help people to develop their own understanding of how they can work with their body, not against it. Her approach to diet is flexible, based on the individual's needs and focuses on hydrating the body, improving its essential fatty acid profile, correcting acid alkaline balance and addressing any other issues that arise. Dietary recommendations move clients towards a wholefood diet with an emphasis on plant foods.
As an experienced NLP practitioner Sophie can also offer the extra help that's often needed to change old habits, behaviours and beliefs around food, making it easier for people to develop a love of good food and get more of what they want from life.
Sophie began her Nutrition and Health Coaching practice in 2006. She is a fully insured member of BANT(the British Association of Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and adheres to their code of ethics and practice. Before starting her own practice Sophie promoted good food and healthy eating messages whilst working for a number of organizations, including the Soil Association and Penny Brohn Cancer Care (formerly Bristol Cancer Help Centre).
Sophie moved to Malvern with her partner and their young son in 2008. She continues to promote good nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices through inspirational talks and workshops to businesses and community groups, alongside offering nutrition workshops, consultations and health coaching sessions at the Beacon Clinic.
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'
