What is PEMF Therapy?
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Fields. PEMF therapy has a wide range of possible uses to improve health and is used in many of the top health clinics around the world. It's aim is help to revitalise, optimise and detoxify. Treatment protocols are individualised, according to the specific health needs of the person wanting to have PEMF therapy.

Every cell in our bodies has an electric charge. This charge can become depleted due to stress, poor diet, toxicity and other lifestyle factors, including ageing. When this happens, our cells don’t work well and are more prone to disease processes. PEMF treatments aim to recharge each cell, improving their overall function and vitality and may help each cell to repair, reducing inflammation, pain and increasing the immune response.

Many clinical trials have been done to assess the beneficial effects of using PEMF therapy.

Contra-Indications

  • Pregnancy – PEMFs have not been proven safe for pregnant women, even though pregnant women often work around MRI machines in hospitals, and in some circumstances get MRIs themselves.

  • Absolute contraindications are implanted electrical devices including pacemakers, cochlear implants, intrathecal pumps, etc

  • If you have a stent

  • People with organ transplants and on immunosuppression drugs.

  • High intensity PEMFs should not be used over breast implants, given the risk of agitating the plastic or silicone in the implants themselves – as it may cause thinning and risk leakage.

About The Session
When you come along for the first time, we will spend time discussing your health needs and what you are looking to achieve. Once this has been determined, the PEMF treatment protocols will be discussed – this will focus on the how often you will need to come and for how long.

Each session will involve you either lying fully clothed on a couch or seated with the Pulsed Electromagnetic fields (PEMF’s) applied via various applicators. How the PEMF's are applied will depend of which part of the body needs the most focused treatment.

What Does It Feel Like
PEMF’s feel like pulses. They can be gentle or stronger in nature, and on slightly higher levels can cause muscle contractions in the body. It is not painful and many people enjoy the pulsing as it can either induce a sense of relaxation or energising.
