Therapeutic approach:

The therapeutic model for her work is Core Process Psychotherapy (a training completed at the Karuna Institute). This is a mindfulness based approach to exploring our present experience that honours both our potential and our sense of suffering. It draws upon and integrates Western psychotherapeutic theories and techniques with Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practices.

Core in this is the recognition that we are inherently healthy and whole; a natural state available to us in each moment. This gentle enquiry recognises all aspects of what it means to be human – the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual expressions of being.

The therapeutic relationship is a confidential one that involves respect and the building of trust; this relationship is what supports and enables the spaciousness, clarity and compassion needed to reconnect us to our inherent wellbeing.

Moving forwards

When might it be useful?

The decision to begin therapy is a very individual one that may come about after long and careful consideration, or perhaps be triggered by an event. It is fundamentally a choice for things to change, a bid for greater understanding, the resolution of difficulties and a desire for personal growth.

How to begin:

Rachel offers a reduced cost, in person, initial meeting as an opportunity for you both to get a sense of how it might be to work together and at the same time clarify what your particular needs might be.

Rachel is an accredited adult psychotherapist registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), as well as a UKCP recognised supervisor and training supervisor.

She provides face-to-face individual counselling and psychotherapy and individual and group supervision (remote options for this may be available).

Her substantial clinical experience is drawn from a deep well of people focused work in a variety of settings and services spanning health, education and social care, as well as in private practice.

She is inspired by the resilience of our inherent health and how this aliveness creatively calls us to live ever deeper from the fullness of our being.
